Kody Kirkpatrick

Coach Kirkpatrick will enter his second season as Head Coach of the Titans in 2022-23. In his first year the Titan's surpassed the 20 win mark, won a regional title, and made it to the Sweet 16. The Titans had several exciting moments in Coach Kirkpatrick's inaugural season. On December 17th the Titans won a pivotal conference game against Southeast on a three point runner at the buzzer by senior Eli Curtis. On January 14th the Titans again won a big conference game against MacArthur, who beat the Titans in November by 25 points. Again, Curtis had the ball in his hands with the clock ticking down and the Titans down by 2. Curtis found Freshman teammate Mason Marshall who scored and got fouled with a second remaining. Marshall made the free throw and the Titans avenged their loss from November. The Titans biggest moment came in the sectional Semi-Final when the Titans closed out a close contest against Centralia at the free-throw line. This was a game that solidified the Titans post-season run to the Sweet 16.

To go along with the team accolades, the Titans also had several individual accolades in Kirkpatrick's first year. Two seniors, Eli Curtis and Weston Anderson were named to the Central State 8 FIRST TEAM All-Conference list.

Overall, Coach Kirkpatrick expressed that he is pleased with the Titan's growth in the 2021-22 season, both as a team and as a program. The 21-22 team continued to get better all season and was playing it's best basketball at the end of the season. As a program, the 21-22 team helped set the foundation for future teams and set a standard of playing with great EFFORT, having a winning ATTITUDE, competing with TOUGHNESS, and having TOGETHERNESS throughout the ups and downs of a season.

Coach Kirkpatrick previously served as Head Coach at Riverton High School where he accumulated a record of  77 wins and 59 losses including a Regional Championship in 2019 and a Conference Championship in 2019-20. As a high school head coach, Kirkpatrick has developed 7 different players into "All-Conference" performers, 3 being named to "First Team" and one player being named SJ-R Player of the Year. In addition to high school accolades, Kirkpatrick also helped guide three players in earning scholarships to play basketball at the collegiate level.

Prior to becoming a head coach, Kirkpatrick served as an assistant coach for 1 year at Williamsville High School, where he helped guide the team to a 20 win season and a Regional Title. Coach Kirkpatrick graduated from New Berlin High School where he was a three sport athlete.  After High School, Kirkpatrick played basketball and earned an associates degree from John Wood Community College (Quincy, IL).
